We have tried to verify the facts. Several websites are reputed to be good fact checkers. www.PolitiFact.com is often mentioned as neutral. Admittedly, I was turned off by noticing that so very many of the statements that they concluded were "nasty lies" were anti-Obama, and Obama mostly got a clean bill of health. This could of course mean that Republicans lie about Obama while Obama's campaign has been mostly truthful. To believe that, you'd have to turn the sound off whenever an ad comes on that ends, "I'm Barak Obama, and I approved this ad." And such ads — very often highly distorted — are on T.V. all day long.

This article disappointingly actually says little specific about the birth certificate. The point of the article is to show that Barack's name is NOT Barak Hussein Mohammed Obama. What concerns most people is whether Obama is a natural born citizen of the U.S.A. If not, he can NOT become president. About this, they write:

On June 13, 2008, Obama's campaign finally released a copy,

When the birth certificate arrived from the Obama campaign it confirmed his name as the other documents already showed it. Still, we took an extra step: We e-mailed it to the Hawaii Department of Health, which maintains such records, to ask if it was real.

"It's a valid Hawaii state birth certificate," spokesman Janice Okubo told us. [Editor's Note: Is she talking about the format, the actual paper document or the text. It would appear she is just talking about the format. Or maybe just confirming that Obama's middle name isn't Muhammed.]

Then the firestorm started.

• Where is the embossed seal and the registrar's signature?
  
• Comparing it to other Hawaii birth certificates, the color shade is different.
  
• Isn't the date stamp bleeding through the back of the document "June 2007?" (Odd since it was supposedly released in June 2008.)
  
• There's no crease from being folded and mailed.
  
• It's clearly Photoshopped and a wholesale fraud.

At PolitiFact.com, we're all about original sources. We don't take anyone at their word or take the reporting of other media organizations as proof. We go to the heart of the story, the source of the truth — original, corroborating documents.

When the official documents were questioned, we went looking for more answers. We circled back to the Department of Health, had a newsroom colleague bring in her own Hawaii birth certificate to see if it looks the same (it's identical). But every answer triggered more questions.

And soon enough, after going to every length possible to confirm the birth certificate's authenticity, you start asking, what is reasonable here? Because if this document is forged, then they all are.

This seems to be saying that if the birth certificate is forged — credible proof has been submitted by qualified experts that it is forged, meaning that new text was written in space that once contained the original text or was added after the original document was issued — then his driver's licence and and marriage licence, etc., also are forged. I don't follow that conclusion. The marriage and driver's licences clearly are not forgeries — (the information may be untruthful, but the documents themselves are not forgeries and no one has said they are. Ergo, so goes the argument, the birth certificate isn't. Huh? Did PolitiFact just demolish a non-issue?] [...]

PolitiFact continues:

It is possible that Obama conspired his way to the precipice of the world's biggest job, involving a vast network of people and government agencies over decades of lies. Anything's possible.

This is of concern. Why didn't the CIA or FBI or whatever agency vetted him — I assume he was vetted — send a note saying what they examined. I'd be happier if Obama did the obvious and released his birth certificate. But, for whatever reason, he won't.

PolitiFact concludes:

There is not one shred of evidence to disprove PolitiFact's conclusion that the candidate's name is Barack Hussein Obama, or to support allegations that the birth certificate he released isn't authentic.

Let's see. They themselves looked at a photocopy. They also looked at the birth certificate of a 'newsroom colleague'. A Hawaiin official said it was a true copy — no details provided. That was sufficient for them to ignore these arguments that the document was a forgery.

This next article makes some excellent points.

The article points out that everyone gets asked for his birth certificate — to vote, to get a marriage licence [Hm. If Obama used his birth certificate to obtain a marriage licence, maybe that's why PolitiFact said that if the birth certificate is phony, so is the marriage licence. THIS IS SPECULATION ON MY PART.], even to register in kindergarten. What's the big deal. Especially when one is running for president. Why file motions to block the need to show the original birth certificate? Or proof of U.S. citizenship? Why not just show it? The obvious conclusion is that some of the information is different in the original than in the copy. Of course, Obama may feel he's entitled to his privacy, a privilege not available to us common folk.

The article also notes that Obama has been stonewalling just as John Edwards said the DBKP was wrong to accuse him of having an affair. DBKP kept writing about it — even though the website was maligned by the Main Stream Media (MSM). Ten months later, they were proven right, when Edwards admitted to the affair.

One man who has pursued this is Philip Berg who "filed suit in the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Pennsylvania against Illinois Sen. Barack Obama and the Democratic National Committee." [He is] "a former gubernatorial and senatorial candidate, former chair of the Democratic Party in Montgomery (PA) County, former member of the Democratic State Committee, and former Deputy Attorney General of Pennsylvania. According to Berg, he filed the suit — just days before the DNC is to hold its nominating convention in Denver — for the health of the Democratic Party."

1. a certified copy of Obama's "vault" (original long version) Birth Certificate;
   
2. a certified copy of Obama's Certificate of Citizenship; and
   
3. a certified copy of the Oath of Allegiance taken by Obama taken at the age of majority.

Then on September 25, On September 25, at Obama's FighttheSmears.com, the campaign stated that Barack Obama had had dual citizenship: that he was a citizen of both the United States and Kenya.

Philip Berg had this to say about this:

"The dual citizenship with Kenya — that's a smokescreen. Kenya allows dual citizenship. Kenya is not the issue.

The Obama campaign never mentions Indonesia — and won't. That's a problem. When Obama moved to Indonesia and attended school, he was adopted or acknowledged by Lolo Soetoro; Indonesia didn't allow dual citizenship."

As Berg wrote in his court filing, Berg v. Obama, No. 08-cv-04083.

Obama lost his U.S. citizenship when his mother married an Indonesian citizen, Lolo Soetoro who legally "acknowledged" Obama as his son in Indonesia and/or "adopted" Obama, which caused Obama to become a "natural" Indonesian citizen. Stanley Ann Dunham Soetoro relocated herself and Obama to Indonesia wherein Obama's mother naturalized in Indonesia. This is proven by Obama's school record with the student's name as "Barry Soetoro", Father's name: Lolo Soetoro, M.A., and Citizenship: Indonesia.

FactCheck.org is another of the fact checking sites that claim to be neutral. In early June www.FactCheck.org had several stories, contending, arguing and concluding that the copy was valid. They also appealed to PolitiFact's conclusion as validating theirs! The Annenberg-owned Factcheck was given a copy by Obama's campaign and wrote that "they had seen it [the copy] and touched it, handled and photographed it." Obviously, they couldn't compare the information to that on the vault document. DBKP pointed out that Obama, Billy Ayers and FactCheck.org all have ties to the Annenberg Foundation. They also wondered why the Obama people gave a copy to Factcheck and didn't send a copy to the judge to dismiss the suit. Some readers noted that John McCain, who was born in the Panama Canal. had no hesitation in making his birth certificate public.

Back to DBKP

On June 12, DailyKOS released its now-infamous forgery of what it claimed was Obama's birth certificate.

Pam Geller of Atlas Shrugged had contacted a document fraud expert who ran a variety of tests on the KOS document.

Geller writes:

Techdude [the expert] delivers a final report that exceeds my wildest expectations. It is irrefutable, empirical evidence - Obama's birth certificate is a forgery. Why? Why a COLB (certificate of live birth) forgery? That is the question.

Insofar as "techdude's" credentials, he is an active member of the Association of Certified Fraud Examiners, American College of Forensic Examiners, The International Society of Forensic Computer Examiners, International Information Systems Forensics Association — the list goes on. He also a board certified as a forensic computer examiner, a certificated legal investigator, and a licensed private investigator. He has been performing computer based forensic investigations since 1993 (although back then it did not even have a formal name yet) and he has performed countless investigations since then.

The vault copy of the document is important because it contains information directly relevent to the question of whether Obama is entitled to run for the presidency. Kenneth Timmerman notes that

the 2007 document produced by the Obama campaign omits key information that normally appears on birth certificates in the United States, including the name of the hospital where he was born, the size and weight of the baby, and sometimes the name of the doctor who delivered him.

In addition, the critics of the 2007 document note that Obama's father is described as "African," a term used today. The formal language in official documents at the time — 1961 — would have identified his race as "Negro" or "Colored."

The Obama camp has not released the long-version of the birth certificate. This has implications. Kenneth Timmerman writes:

A Pennsylvania lawsuit alleging that Barack Obama is not a "natural-born citizen" of the United States took an unusual twist this week, after a federally-mandated deadline requiring Obama's lawyers to produce a "vault" copy of his birth certificate expired with no response from Obama or his lawyers.

Berg's suit and allegations have set off a wave of Internet buzz and rumors, though Obama could easily have put the matter to rest by providing the federal court with the basic documentation proving he is eligible to take the oath of a president. But Obama has apparently decided to deny the court and the public that documentation.

According to Mr. Berg, Obama - by default — admitted to every charge the lawyer made., among them:

1. I was born in Kenya.
   
2. I am a Kenya "natural born" citizen.
   
3. My foreign birth was registered in the State of Hawaii.
   
4. My father, Barrack Hussein Obama, Sr. admitted Paternity of me.
   
5. My mother gave birth to me in Mombosa, Kenya.

The list includes 56 admissions.

The DNC's admissions, which number 27, include that:

1. They nominated Barack Hussein Obama as the Democratic Nominee for President.
   
2. Have not vetted Barack Hussein Obama.
   
3. They did not have a background check performed on Barack Hussein Obama.
   
4. They did not verify Barack Hussein Obama's eligibility to serve as President of the United States.
   
5. Barack Hussein Obama was born in Kenya.

Berg had concluded that "Obama is either a citizen of his father's native Kenya, by birth there or through operation of U.S. law; or that Obama became a citizen of Indonesia by relinquishing his prior citizenship (American or Kenyan) when he moved there with his mother in 1967. Either would mean Obama was not a natural-born citizen.

The matter was settled or became a very serious issue October 25, 2008 — depending on your outlook — when Barclay Surrick, the judge in the case, dismissed the suit. The judge stated that as an individual, Berg did not have the standing to sue. The judge said that only Congress could determine whether Barak Obama was a citizen or an illegal alien.

Attorney Berg again stressed his position regarding the urgency of this case as, "we" the people, are heading to a "Constitutional Crisis" if this case is not resolved forthwith. He asks, "If I don't have standing, if you don't have standing, if your neighbor doesn't have standing to ask whether or not the likely next president of the United States — the most powerful man in the entire world — is eligible to be in that office in the first place, then who does?"

There are eight other suits pending. They do NOT automatically go away if Obama is elected in November. I am not a lawyer but I believe he can not be sued after he takes office in January. He can be impeached.

I suspect the Obama people will produce something between now and the election. We won't have the time to examine it properly. The MSM will proclaim it GENUINE.

UPDATE: Two weeks before the election, Obama took the time to visit his grandmother, Madelyn Dunham, that "typical white person". A few days later, Linda Lingle, the governor of the state of Hawaii sealed Obama's birth certificate. Governor Lingle instructed the state's Department of Health (DOH) to make sure no one in the press obtains access to the original document under any circumstances. Senator Obama can of course legally release his birth certificate.

One story making the rounds is that the Obamas were in Kenya visiting his family close to delivery time. The airline refused to fly them to Hawaii, so they didn't return to Hawaii until after Obama was born. It is not known whether the document on file at DOH was filed at the time of birth or later. Another legal issue is whether his mother, then 18, met the requirements to register her child as a natural-born citizen if he was born in Kenya.

It is asserted by Philip Berg and others that Obama was born in the Coast Provincial General Hospital at Mombassa, Kenya at 7.24 PM on August 4, 1961, a birth that was documented by a certificate with an embossed seal that displays the name of the hospital, as well as witness signatures. Moreover, his grandmother in Kenya, as well as his brother and sister, say they were present at Obama's birth in Kenya.

And you thought chads were from hell!
