President Barack Hussein Obama tries to follow President John Fitzgerald Kennedy's belief from fifty years ago: "Peace is our primary objective in the Middle East - and peace is partly our responsibility. 'Seek peace, and pursue it' commands the psalmist. And that we must do. With open minds, open hearts, and the priceless asset of our American heritage, we shall seek peace in the Middle East, as elsewhere. And when history writes its verdict, let it be said that we pursued the peace with all the courage, all the strength, and all the resourcefulness at our command."
Much has happened during the five decades since. Most noticeably, the Holocaust is on an accelerated course to fast becoming a figment of Zionist imagination. Freedoms are easily abused to usher in evil, and we are too distracted by being politically correct to see the dangers ahead. (We were also too distracted until very recently in living the good life that we did not see the error in our ways lacking any accountability and personal responsibility that a global financial meltdown resulted.)
Times have changed. Israel is no longer an asset America sees as worth protecting at any price. Moreover, we have blundered in our pursuit of "peace" to completely misinterpret what peace means to our enemies. Their time horizon is different, so are the ground rules by which they deceive and obtain their wants. Imposing "peace" in the Middle East is tantamount to President Carter's bringing "democracy," progress and greater freedom to Iran during the late Shah's time. He too superimposed a Western word on Eastern culture. The result of Carter's horrendous mistake is the current rule of the Mullahs and the catastrophic end they are trying to achieve. Single-handedly President Jimmy Carter has brought about a new world order in which Iran is fast becoming the dominating force rushing to bring in al Mahdi.
Listening to the rhetoric, I am astounded that we do not see the rapidly deteriorating condition of the patient being examined. Looking at the chart we see "State of Israel, Modern, born 14 May 1948." The "demand" that Israel be recognized as the Jewish homeland is now "RACIST." A united Jerusalem is no longer the symbol and capital of Israel it has become a "stumbling block" to a future peace.
Like termites eating at the foundations of a building, the more outrageous the statements and the greater frequency in which they are said, the more successful is the attempt to bring about the final demise of Israel. The group surrounding the patient's bed is all dressed up in white coats, but the Hippocratic Oath was only used as the entrance card to this highly guarded room. The intention is to bring the final harm to the patient, all in the name of some convoluted, "all merciful and benevolent moon god."
In an address by Prime Minister Netanyahu on the occasion of Jerusalem Day State Ceremony, we are reminded: "United Jerusalem is the capital of Israel" [but there are no foreign embassies in this capital today, 42 years after the unification]. "Jerusalem has always been and always will be ours." [No body else thinks so. Even the leading party, Kadima, continues to declare that Jerusalem is a de facto divided city.] "It will never again be divided or cut in half. Jerusalem will remain only under Israel's sovereignty." Now, whom are we kidding? One red line after the next were crossed, erased and re-drawn. The Israelis themselves started doubting this statement.
It is time for Israel to disengage from all the rhetoric, act and assign a steep cost for failure to comply. Jerusalem is as divisible as Israel itself remove a vital organ, be it the liver, the heart or the brain, will the body continue to exist? Let us start the war right now, rather than wait for it to be imposed on us. We will need a very strict medicine regiment, some distasteful, some poisonous. The body will undergo shocks and after-shocks, but it is still strong enough to survive and emerge victor. If we choose to wait, the body weakens and the chances of survival continue to diminish.
Among the new ministries, armies of hired helped in the existing ministries, and other funds being spent on perks and life-time privileges for Knesset members, there must be a tiny reserve for a rainy day. This is the day. Earmark the money for expansion throughout Judea and Samaria. The second (and now third) generation has no place to live since permits are not issued. Expand. Build. Revive. Protect. And fight make the vast resources of the Ministry of Justice available first to enforce the law, removing all the illegal settlements and illegal housing expansions FROM AMONG THE ARAB VILLAGES, then fight all the so-called human rights organizations that are solely focused on destroying Israel than on anyone's welfare.
This is the true prescription to Israel's current woes. Act; then react. Stand firm. Respond as needed. Focus on the objective restore law and order unto the land. Highlight the 300,000 members of communities throughout Judea and Samaria. They protect Israel's continued existence, for they are the last fort standing. Israel is to Iran what these communities are to the Arabs' aspiration to destroy the land.
Much speculation surrounded Israel's Prime Minister's visit to Washington, DC, earlier this week. Are the US and Israel on a collision course? Is Israel alone in the battlefield against Iran's expansion to create a Caliphate, one already extending less a tiny ferocious obstacle from Iran via the two sides of the Mediterranean to the shores of the Atlantic?
President Obama's "two state solution" is not a "solution" at all. The Arabs those who call themselves "Palestinian," those who are Israeli-Arabs and those in the countries surrounding Israel do not want Israel to continue to exist. They wiped the country from their maps and flags; they write and talk about one state not two not for the Jews.
The Jews have no place in the Middle East. Recreating and rewriting history are fast accelerating. President Obama's new plans to bring about a lasting peace will not happen in our life time, and not in those of our children, for there is a generation the Arabs have raised on hating everything to do with being "Jewish," "Westerner" or "freedom loving," Israel being at the top of that list. This hatred cannot be erased. Change will take decades.
Surrendering Judea and Samaria will not bring about peace nor will a "two state solution." If one wants to strive to a quiet calm, Israel must be strong. Israel is being eaten from within, columns of termites advancing from all sides, in a three dimensional space, eating, eating, eating. Iran, in the meantime, is getting ready to bring about Armageddon. It has the capacity, more importantly it has the will.
The only weapon against Iran's expansionary plans is what JFK described in NY on 8/26/1960:
Israel was not created in order to disappear - Israel will endure and flourish. It is the child of hope and the home of the brave. It can neither be broken by adversity nor demoralized by success. It carries the shield of democracy and it honors the sword of freedom; and no area of the world has ever had an overabundance of democracy and freedom.
David was not covered with a shield nor did he use a sword against Goliath. The true weapon may not be in our hands at this stage. We lie unprotected at the mercy of the Doctors who came to administer death. Instead, our Helper may be overseeing and misguiding the steps of our enemies who are fighting Him, trying to break an ancient promise He has made to our forefathers, Abraham, Isaac and Jacob.
Dr. Daryl Temkin explains:
"Thank G-d, the Arabs won't hear of internationalizing Jerusalem. They want it all for themselves. Bless them. They want the Kotel for themselves, Bless them. Imagine if they agreed with Obama and Hillary and the plan to remove Jerusalem from the Jews by having the UN administer the area? Imagine if the Arabs said fine, we will drop the right of return and we want Israel to remain a Jewish state? Their pride is too deep to even lie in order to achieve their victory.
Bless the Arabs for refusing to be dishonest.
Bless the Arabs for refusing to cave.
Bless the Arabs for never giving up the Right of Return.
Bless the Arabs for never recognizing Israel.
Bless the Arabs for never recognizing a Jewish State.
Bless the Arabs for hating each other.
Bless Hamas and Fatah for hating each other and killing each other.
Bless the Gazans who hate the West Bankers.
Bless the West Bankers who hate the Gazans.
Bless the Hamas who will overthrow Abbas.
Bless Hamas for letting the world know that it has smuggled ample weapons into the West Bank.
Bless Abbas who will scream till Hamas murders him.
Bless Abbas for showing off that there will be no Jewish State.
Bless Fyaad for being hated by most of the Arabs.
Bless the Iranians who won't shut up about wiping Israel off the map.
Bless the Iranians for not caving to any so called wimpy sanctions.
Bless the Iranians for claiming that they don't mind 20 million dying in a nuclear response.
Bless the Iranians for hating America and making their intentions perfectly clear.
Wake up the Jewish People who refuse to see anything of the above.
Wake up the American leadership who says the time is ripe for peace.
Wake up the Israelis who say the time is ripe for peace.
Wake up American people and see that your leaders have lost their way.
Wake up America and demand a return to sanity and a return to saving Western freedoms and democratic values for life.
Jews have to come out the the ghetto and start behaving like they have their own state and it is theirs, and no one is to tell them what they can and cannot do in their own state. The Audacity of America, the Audacity of Obama and his Audacity of Hope."
We may have gone astray, but our path is right. Our enemies feel victorious, but this would be a short-lived taste. Truth and goodness cannot be eradicated a flame comes out of non-being and continues to burn. Dr. Temkin's Call for Action is being heard, armies are gathering, brigades and divisions are mobilized. We are all soldiers in this war, the war against our God's Promise, against our God's People, against our God's very Being.
In the series "Postcards from Israel," Ari Bussel and Norma Zager invite readers throughout the world to join them as they present reports from Israel as seen by two sets of eyes: Bussel's on the ground, Zager's counter-point from home. Israel and the United States are inter-related - the two countries we hold dearest to our hearts - and so is this "point - counter-point" presentation that has, since 2008, become part of our lives.
